1 hostage remains with Hamas after latest body is ID'd

Israeli authorities confirmed that the remains returned on Wednesday belong to Sudthisak Rinthalak, a Thai national killed during the October 7, 2023 attacks and whose body was held by Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza. Rinthalak had been working in Israel to support his family in Thailand before he was killed at Kibbutz Be’eri, one of the communities heavily affected by the attacks. His remains are being returned to Thailand for a proper burial in coordination with the Thai Embassy. Israeli police officer Ran Gvili remains the sole hostage in Gaza, with Israeli officials continuing efforts to secure his return.
